Our Mission Our Vision

The Reality

In Indiana, Black and Brown LGBTQ+ people often face isolation, fear, and systemic barriers that deny them basic safety and dignity.

This is why

Indiana Pride of Color exists.

Our Vision

(The Action We Take for Survival)

We envision an Indiana where isolation ends, and affirmation begins. We demand a Hoosier state where EVERY LGBTQ+ person of color knows they have a safe harbor, an unwavering family, and the total freedom to live their truth. We believe in building a place where Black and Brown queer joy is not just permitted, but loudly and fiercely celebrated.

We make our Vision real through three non-negotiable duties:

Protecting Sacred Space: Establishing and maintaining culturally-affirming gathering spaces and programs that directly counter loneliness, build collective power, and strengthen the bonds of our family.

Ensuring Essential Wellness: Connecting members with vital life resources, including guaranteed access to culturally competent health, mental health, and financial resilience support.

Demanding Legislative Power: Leading aggressive policy advocacy at the local and state level to challenge the specific legislation and systemic inequities that threaten the lives and rights of our community.

WE ARE NOT JUST A SOCIAL GROUP. WE ARE NOT JUST A SERVICE. WE ARE A CHOSEN FAMILY FIGHTING FOR THE DIGNITY AND SURVIVAL OF OUR PEOPLE IN INDIANA.

Our Mission

(The Future We Demand)

Indiana Pride of Color (INPOC) mission is to be the critical lifeline and trusted advocate for the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community by Protecting Sacred Spaces, Ensuring Essential Wellness, and Demanding Legislative Voice
